Starting August 11, 2021, we are thrilled to welcome back in-person audiences for the first time since March 2020!

However, before you visit Salt Lake Acting Company, please review this Safety Guide below and share it with anyone who plans to attend with you. Everyone that comes to Salt Lake Acting Company is expected to adhere to these terms and policies.

As always, we want your visit to Salt Lake Acting Company to be as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. While things may be a bit different than the last time you attended a show here, please remember we are here for you. If you have questions, please contact us at 801-363-7522 or We can’t wait to see you at the theatre again soon!

COVID-19 Risk Awareness & Policy Agreement

By visiting Salt Lake Acting Company patrons agree to adhere to the policies outlined in this COVID-19 Safety Guide, instructional signs posted at the theatre, and directions given by SLAC staff in order to attend a performance or any other event held at the theatre.

By visiting Salt Lake Acting Company, all patrons and employees voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

In the event that contact tracing becomes necessary due to possible COVID-19 exposure, the information provided to Salt Lake Acting Company will be used by the SLCO Health Department to contact you directly. You may be asked to contact other members of your party.

Please note: We are proud to be a professional equity house and we will be adhering to all the policies and procedures laid out by Actors Equity Association (AEA), the union for professional actors and stage managers in the United States.

Safety measures will likely change as COVID-19 guidelines evolve. We will continue to keep ticket-holders updated via email with any changes and the most up-to-date information will always be available on our website. We recommend checking our website for the latest information prior to attending a performance.

  • FULL VACCINATION - Proof of COVID-19 vaccination must be provided by all audience members to attend any performance at Salt Lake Acting Company. All audience members above the age of 12 will need to show proof of vaccination and a photo ID to enter the building. Again, all patrons must be fully vaccinated (final dose of vaccination must be completed at least 14 days prior to the date of attendance). Think of this as being similar to the necessity of presenting a current, valid ID in order to purchase alcohol in Utah. A photo or copy of your vaccine card will suffice.
  • STAY HOME IF YOU’RE SICK - If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to anyone with the virus, you must stay home. Contact the box office at 801-363-7522 or for ticketing accommodations including streaming options and ticket exchanges.
  • STREAMING AVAILABILITY - In addition to in-person performances, #SLACabaret will be available to stream on-demand August 28 through September 12, 2021. If you are unable to attend in person, we are happy to provide this option for you.

WHAT WE MUST ASK OF ACTORS, STAFF & OUR SPACE: Safety Procedures in the Theatre

  • FULL VACCINATION - All box office and front of house staff, administrative staff, backstage crew, stage management, and actors have been fully vaccinated.
  • REDUCING CONTACT - Wherever possible, points of contact between staff and patrons will be limited. This includes utilizing digital programs, digital tickets, etc.
  • SANITIZATION - Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the building.
  • CLEANING - All high-touch and low-touch surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized before, during, and after performances.
  • VENTILATION - Salt Lake Acting Company has fully updated all HVAC systems in our facility with brand-new equipment that meets or exceeds the ventilation and filtration standards recommended by the CDC and AEA.

Tickets, Seating & Guest Services

  • NO TABLE SEATS THIS YEAR - There will be no table seating for the summer show this year so we can keep AEA approved safe distance between the audience and actors. We plan to bring back table seating next year.
  • CONCESSIONS - There will be no concessions for sale during the run of #SLACabaret. Water stations will be available. You are also welcome to pack a picnic to bring into the theatre and enjoy during the show.
  • FIVE WEEK RUN - Typically our summer production runs for 10 weeks, with a possible 2-week extension and a higher capacity seating set-up. This year, as we transition back to live theatre with #SLACabaret, it will only run 5 weeks. Please keep this in mind as you plan your attendance.
  • SEATING - According to local/state health and safety guidelines, event seating may be done at full capacity. Patrons may be seated shoulder to shoulder without social distancing.
  • TICKETS - Physical tickets will not be mailed at this time. Please have the barcode on your ticket confirmation email ready to be scanned on your phone. If you prefer, you can also print your confirmation email at home.
  • CANCELLATION - In the event that a performance needs to be canceled, patrons will have the option to reschedule, receive a refund, donate the ticket cost, or receive a gift certificate in the value of the tickets.
  • ACCESSIBILITY - Due to circumstances beyond our control, there has been a delay in the installation of our new elevator. SLAC's new elevator is currently scheduled to be installed in mid-August. Please note that the chair lift formerly used for Upstairs Theatre access has been removed. If you need assistance accessing the Upstairs Theatre, we recommend choosing a performance between Aug. 25 - Sept. 12, 2021.  We’ve decided on an opening date that would allow for us to have an elevator for a majority of the run (the latter half) and honoring our commitment to the artists contracted for the production—many of whom have other commitments they'll need to honor beyond #SLACabaret.
Assisted listening devices are currently available. An ASL-interpreted performance will be held September 11th at 2pm. Other accessibility features will be implemented in the coming months. If you have any accommodation requests or questions, please contact our Accessibility Coordinator, Natalie Keezer ()
